Bond Wins Greek Island Shoot-out

Liam Bond beat Paul Wesselingh over the final six holes to win the Aegean Airways Pro-am on three under par, after the favourite for the inaugural event in Crete faltered with a horrific eight at the short par-four 12th hole.
Bond pressed on steadily to add a second-round one-under-par 70 to his opening 69 to finish with a comfortable three-stroke margin, on 139, in the new PGAsE-endorsed event.
Wesselingh, level with the Welsh challenger after the first round, could do no better than a 73 following his disaster hole, to finish on level par, two ahead of Scotland's Willie Milne and Kyle Rushall in joint third place.
In a successful start to what seems destined to become an annual event on the PGAs of Europe calendar, the association's newest full members, Bulgaria, played a prominent part on the leader board.
Neil Turley, who has instigated an educational programme in the Eastern European country, shared joint fifth spot on three over par, with Craig Phillips, both of whom fielded Bulgarian representatives in the pro-am.
Turley's team was second in the team event which was won by England's Kyle Rushall and his trio.
